My Menu Book - an interactive Menu communication book designed by Amanda Mc Guinness with high contrasting imagery together with a page by page white background with clear boundaries denoted by blue boundary.

My Menu Book  was inspired by Amanda's young son Conor who is autistic and non-speaking. Amanda designed the My Menu Book to support her young son when out and about. Conor is autistic and relies ACC to have his communicative needs met. Amanda noticed Conor was struggling to have his voice heard in Cafés and restaurants so she set about designing the My Menu book to support her young son.

When out and about, Amanda brings along the "My Menu Book" so Conor is supported wherever he goes.

This resource is designed in a page by page format. The resource hosts over 54 picture symbols of food, beverages and desert items most commonly found in Cafe and restaurants. An ideal resource for children who can point to what they would like to order. For children who use Picture Exchange Communication to communicate Amanda has designed the My Menu Book with accommodations to support "PECs" users. Each section contains pages of squared units together with Velcro hook coins to attach your own food picture symbols.

The My Menu book itself contains 87 Velcro Hook coins.

This resource is an A6 professionally printed interactive 12 page educational book.

The cover is printed on 350gsm double gloss laminate and the inner pages are printed on 350gsm matt silk card.

The resource is ready to be used immediately in that everything that learner needs is housed within the resource.

Please note that this is an educational resource and is not a toy. Adult supervision required, not suitable for children under 36months.
